The Parish Nurse Ministry is an emerging specialized professional practice which encompasses the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social dimensions of nursing practice. Services to the congregation are designed to build on and strengthen capacities of individuals, and families to understand and care for one another.
The practice holds that all persons are sacred and must be treated with dignity and respect. In response to this belief, Parish Nurses assist and empower indiviuals to become more active partners in the management of their personal health and resources available to them.
Parish Nursing bridges the gap between the congregation, health care team, and available resources for individuals. As health care is continually changing, this has become an increasing need.
Our local ministry is based upon the scripture found in 3 John: "Behold, I pray all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes with your soul" (3 John 1:2)
